Our Forum
Parkside Community Forum meets quarterly and comprises members of the local community and councillors.
The forum’s aim is to represent the community’s interests and address any issues that arise as Parkside unfolds, and to provide a two-way channel between the Parkside team and local residents, businesses and other stakeholders.

the Parkside development and they are keen to hear from you.

Dougal Paver,
Forum Chair.
MD, Merrion Strategy
Dougal Paver is chair of the Community Forum. He is an experienced public affairs consultant, working across the country managing the public engagement for large-scale development projects. In his spare time he enjoys fly fishing and attends Goodison Park with his teenage children.

Local resident
As a local resident with a young family, living next to Parkside we appreciate the development is important for the area. Hopefully supporting the forum with feedback from neighbours, friends, Winwick Church and School and wider community helps Parkside regeneration benefit all.

Cllr Kate Groucutt,
St Helens Borough Council
Kate Groucutt is the Labour Party Councillor for Parr ward in St Helens and the Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for economy, business and skills. She represents the Council on the Parkside board and is committed to bringing new jobs and opportunities to the community of Newton-le-Willows.

Alex Myhill
Alex operates a successful leisure business on Newton-le-Willows High Street and has other business interests in the borough. She is keen to see Parkside deliver supply opportunities for local SMEs.

Cllr Richard McCauley,
St Helens Borough Council
Richard is the Labour ward Councillor for Thatto Heath and is the Council’s cabinet member for economic regeneration and housing. He has a keen interest in ensuring Parkside creates as many training, apprenticeship and job opportunities for local people as possible. In his spare time Richard follows Saints.

Mr Paul Robinson,
head teacher,
St Peter’s School
Paul is the Headteacher at St Peter’s CofE primary school on Birley Street and is also a governor at the school. Paul knows the area well, living next Parkside. Hobbies include dog walking, helping to run Vulcan Juniors Football Club and supporting Everton FC.

Cllr Cathy Mitchell,
Warrington Borough Council
Cathy is the Labour Councillor for Burtonwood & Winwick ward on Warrington Borough Council and is the council’s deputy leader, with responsibility for finances. In her professional life, Cathy is a barrister and also Chair of Warrington’s bus company.

Seve is Deputy Leader of St Helens Borough Council and Cabinet Member – Strategic Transport. He is also a ward councillor for Newton le Willows – East.

George Melvin
Winwick Residents Representative
George has lived in Winwick for 34 years and worked in the nuclear industry before retiring in 2016. He has been involved in a number of community-based projects over the years including Winwick Primary School PTFA, he was Chair of Winwick Carnival Committee until 2010, and, more latterly, is a coordinator of Winwick Litter Network. He is passionate about the environment and wildlife and was pleased to be made a Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador earlier this year. His other interests include music, photography and cycling. Contact:
