Parkside Link Road is now under construction and will provide enhanced access between the M6 and the new Parkside development, diverting goods traffic away from the A49 and residential areas, improving connectivity for commuters and helping to mitigate local environmental concerns.
Balfour Beatty is constructing the road on behalf of St Helens Borough Council. They are expert civil engineering contractors. A construction management plan is in place to ensure that noise, dust, traffic disruption and other impacts are mitigated as best as possible throughout the construction period.
This includes controlling when site vehicles can access the site, timings of deliveries and working hours on site.
Keep an eye on this site for updates on the construction programme.
Here is the route, which has been carefully designed to minimise impact and maximise the road’s performance.
Work has now begun on the link road and, weather-permitting, it is expected to be completed at the end of 2023, ahead of the opening of the first units for occupation by new employers.
